Reflecting on the CARVC Conference: A Week of Learning, Networking, and Community in Myrtle Beach

This week, I, Sarah, had the privilege of attending the CARVC conference in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. CARVC stands for The Carolina's Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds. This is an association that we as owners and LFC are a park of.

This was my first time attending the conference and it was filled with insightful lessons, valuable connections, and an overwhelming sense of community.

The conference brought together campground owners, managers, and staff from across North and South Carolina, along with representatives from Georgia, Virginia, and beyond. This mix of both large, nationally recognized campgrounds (like the iconic Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach) and smaller, family-run spots like ours created a unique environment where every voice had something valuable to contribute. Even those who have just purchased land with plans to develop their own campground were welcomed into the fold, eager to learn and grow.

What stood out to me the most was the spirit of collaboration. There’s a deep, shared belief in the mantra that “a rising tide lifts all boats.” It’s not about competition, but rather about helping one another succeed. Campground owners who have been in the business for generations were incredibly generous with their knowledge—sharing what has worked for them, as well as the lessons they've learned from what hasn't. It was inspiring to hear about their experiences and the innovative solutions they've implemented.

In a room filled with passionate individuals who truly love camping and the industry, you could feel the excitement about what’s ahead. From embracing new technology to finding creative ways to improve guest experiences, the energy was contagious. It’s this open-mindedness that makes the CARVC community so strong. We’re all striving for the same goal: to create memorable, enjoyable experiences for our guests while continuously improving and adapting to the evolving needs of the camping world.

The CARVC conference reaffirmed that as campground owners, we are never truly alone. We have an entire community behind us—willing to share, collaborate, and push the industry forward. I left Myrtle Beach not only with new knowledge but also with stronger connections and a renewed sense of purpose. We are better equipped than ever to serve our guests and ensure that Lakeshore Family Campground continues to provide the welcoming, fun, and memorable experiences our visitors have come to love.

We are so grateful to be part of such a supportive, dynamic industry, and we look forward to implementing what we've learned to make Lakeshore Family Campground even better!

Here's to the rising tide of the camping community!
